Hi,
I was wondering if your club is open to the public or only for current Stanford students? I’m (almost) twenty-five, and I’m working in the Menlo-park area. If you are open to non-students I’d like to visit you’re club.

What Ms. Evans said. Is this a school-exclusive club?
Hey,
I did manage to come visit one week (and I really enjoyed it), but the next week I came by (back before Thanksgiving) I was not able to get into the building. What time do you guys usually get there, and what door do you use? I have the feeling that if I don’t catch you all going in I’m going to be out of luck. Alternatively, is there someone I could call if I get there and cannot get in?
Thanks,
Laura Evans
Newtype is open to the general community.
Hey there! I am a cosplayer anime fan in menlo park- My husband works on campus- I can hook you up with tons of japanese and anime con information ^_^ I also work at anime festivals with sugarclaycafe.com and lots of other stuff ^_^ email me anytime!
I would like to introduce myself (and yes I did say konnichiha being a more proper way then konichiwa.), I have been an Anime fan and used to fan sub long long ago, even back in the days of Amiga’s when digital subbing and DVDs were not around back when Laser Discs were the only way to really get a great sub to SVHS. Most people if not all on this forum wont know who I am and being out of the loop for 10 years its all good.
I would just like to say Hi and even tho I am able to make the showings to meet people in person I figured this would be good place to stop in and see whats going on in the fan sub community.
Also I really don’t know if anyone would have a problem with me posting import DVDs I really cant hold on to anymore most are brand new never opened and a few are opened played once and put away and are as mint as never been opened. I would understand if this would not be allowed and I am not trying to use this forum for sales but I figured there might be some people who would like to own some new imports and not have to import them as I did from CDJapan as well as having them might bring new subbing projects for the subbing team/member’s. Again I would just like to say I only ask 1st if this would be a problem and I personally would not be selling them at all but I have fallen on hard times, hard enough that that I might loose my house and well house vs. import R2 Anime DVDs….. not much of a choice there, the house wins over them and I will be super sad to part with them but having a roof over my head wins every time.
Anyways even if its not ok to post what I have I still wanted to check in and see whats new after all these years and if I can get out to Ann Arbor to see some showings and talk to some of the subbers now a days and see how you all are doing it for shows, I myself used to hard sub before there was soft subbing and DVD authoring when DVDs came out and LD’s went away. SVHS & VHS were the way everyone in the early 90′s all the way to the end of the 90′s used to trade and trust me I have hundreds of VHS just sitting here all dust covered but they are not what I am looking to part with, its only the Region 2 DVDs I personally bought / imported from CDJapan just to be clear by what I meant. Thanks for keeping the subbing going and shows for everyone who loves anime and really wants to see it in its original form and not the Region 1 edited and sometimes hacked ver’s made just for American DVD sales.
Anyone interested in looking through what I have for sale can check the out here http://www.jurai.org/dokosales/ Thanks!
Hey,
I am writing a book that talks about newtype anime. Can I interview one of the club officials?
Hi! Could your club members help to do a quick online survey on fans’ access to anime? This is for my graduate course research project.

I would be really grateful if you guys could help!
Self Intro
Hi,
I am a new grad and just came over to the bay and I have a passion for anime and is looking to meet new people.
I just started working around here and don’t know many people around here.
I came across the Stanford anime website and I was wondering if you can put me in touch with the current club officers to see if I can join the club meetings to meet new people?
I know this might feels kind of weird but I am looking forward to meet other anime fans out there in this new area.
When are the meeting times for the club?
Thanks,
Steven
Hi,
So you have to be a club member to see the Saturday night viewing?
Thanks,
Christi
I’m recommending this anime convention list to you: http://www.cosplayful.com/animeconventions
It has an easy access to upcoming anime convention in california (and other places:p). I hope it would be helpful.
Excellent points altogether, you just gained a new reader. What may you recommend about your post that you just made some days in the past? Any sure?
