Speaking of which, is the poll thingie a Stanford-network-only thing? Or is this account totally screwing with me, since it eats comments as well?

Not sure about the poll, did not know that until you brought it up. The comment eating was from comments being held for moderation on first time commenters; I just turned that off now.
