A little late, but hope everyone had fun this summer, and watched lots of anime. *warning* long update follows. We have lots of new things lined up for this year. I’ll break this up into smaller sections.

Happenings this Year
This coming Tuesday meeting (Oct. 3) we will conduct a poll of what people want to see for this coming academic year. There will be refreshments and music at 8:00pm as well as anime right outside of Building 60-61H, so be there! If you would like to find out more about the anime that we will be polling on, here are the flyers that Tom made! page 1 | page 2
If you were here last year, then you probably remember the Saturday showings in the afternoon of anime movies we had. Well this year we will be continuing the tradition. More info to follow.

Library
Yes, that’s right. We have been thinking about the media (anime & manga) library some more. Since Stanford does not allow us to use club money to buy such things as DVDs, we are really unable to jump-start a collection without your help. If you have any DVDs that you would be willing to donate, contact one of the officers. Another way to help is we will be setting up a donation link under the members page. Thanks!

The Site
First off, we’ve shifted the site to a wordpress blog based system, so all of the officers can now post freely. This should end all the periods of no-updates that we had last year. Also because of the blog-based system, you, the members, can also post feedback directly on just about every post (summary, event, showing, etc.) we make by commenting (you need to register first). Also, we’re going to try to make better use of the member page this year, and perhaps feature some fanart or submissions that you may contribute. Some polls to get general feedback on things will also be located under the member page. We will leave the more serious polls to good ol’ paper and pen.

Oh yeah, and the meta redirect off of the index page of the old site is only temporary (well at least I hope). It is really up to the ITSS department to change the virtual servers now… *update* virtual hosts have been switched now, there are a few links that need to be fixed though

*update* seems like mod_rewrite is broken (creates those pretty url links instead of ?p=234) when the virtual server switched… will look more into this later
